Justin Hill

Justin is an Associate and Mechanical Building Services Engineer with 17 years of experience in the industry.
Justin ‘fell into’ the industry after leaving early a course at Loughborough University that was not fulfilling and found himself as a Junior Contracts Engineer come draughtsman a few weeks later. Joining CIBSE and a part-time ONC Building Services Engineering course Justin started his education in Building Services. He won the coveted CIBSE Five Counties Award for his HNC and numerous prizes for his part-time Building services Engineering Degree, which he graduated with first class honours in 2000.
Justin has worked his way from a Junior Contracts Engineer gaining vast and differing experiences with each company he has worked with, including the Mahill Ductwork Group, Couch Perry and Wilkes and considerable time with Crown House Engineering/Technologies, where he was Design team Leader before leaving for New Zealand. Since arriving in New Zealand in 2005 Justin has worked for Beca in their Christchurch office and holds the position of Associate and Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Justin accepted the role of CIBSE Christchurch Chapter Chair in 2006 hosting the Chapter’s inaugural meeting in March 2007. As Christchurch Chapter Chair, Justin sits on the CIBSE ANZ Regional Committee.
Justin is passionate about Building Services Engineering and believes that it has a key role in shaping the future of the world, especially with respect to dealing with climate change, the growing demand for energy and dwindling fossil fuel energy sources.
